Short History
Recognized in Canada as one of the top
instructors, Rafael Kalamat
is acknowledged as a drill
and method teaching professional.
Rafael's students list ranks
highly with amateurs as well
as professional golfers.
Having played golf for 25
years, Rafael has developed
a systamatic yet simple
teaching method for golfers
of all levels. However, it
was Rafael's passion for the
game that led him to such
establishments as the
Professional Golf Management
Program in Toronto, The
Royal Montreal Golf Club,
The Falcon Golf Club, The Golfologist
Academy and The Challenger
Golf Club.
Originally Rafael began his
career in 1994 studying
kinesiology & bio mechanics
for golf and then working at
Dorval golf club under the
supervision of Bruce
Eaves. Junior
Development programs such as
The Royal Canadian Golfers
Association's Future Links
program was the start
of Rafael's teaching journey. He soon
learned his real interest
was kinesiology, technique,
and the assistance and
benefits of technology for
golf lessons at the P.G.M.
(Professional Golf
Management) Business School
-
Humber College, Target Lines
Inc. There he
established golf schools in
Oakville while studying
under P.G.A. Tour
veterans Bob Beauchemin &
Ken Tarling.

Understanding the business
and community as well as
establishing a reputation
for his future was the next
step. At Royal
Montreal Golf Club Head
Professional Bob Hogarth was
an influence in shaping
Rafael as one of his
assistant professionals
while playing the local P.G.A.
circuit. Also working as
a Teaching Professional for
3 years at the Golfologist
Academy and 5 years at The Falcon Golf
Club, Rafael has had the
opportunity to use state of
the art technology and work
along side class A
professionals David Hill,
Olivier Edmond and
Martin Plante. He has held
positions Of Director of Golf &
Instruction at Club Mirabel
Pointe-Claire followed by Club Sportif Cote de Liesse.
Member & Level 3 instructor of the USGTF (United
States Golf Teachers
Federation) and the CGTF
(Canadian Golf Teachers
Federation), Rafael is now
the
Director of Instruction at
Golf-O-Max Dorval, West Island Golf located
at Indoor Tees Golf & The Falcon
Golf Club in Montreal & Toronto.
He has won numerous business
awards along with being a
regular contributor to print
golf media in Canada which is
syndicated on a regular basis. Rafael
had become a regular on
Montreal's CJAD 800AM on
Saturday mornings "The Golf
Show", where he covered many
golf topics & events such as The
President's Cup at Royal
Montreal Golf Club & the
2005/2006/2007 Canadian Opens.
Rafael is now a resident of
Toronto and can be reached for
golf lessons & consultation.
